Currently, disabling access to Staff Directory disables access to at least the Case Tabs and Party tabs because the permission controls access to any screen that has a list dropdown that pulls the staff code.
Because there likely isn't a practical situation where access to those tabs and drodowns would be implemented, dropdowns with staff codes shouldn't be impacted by permissions and instead the permission should only cover access to Settings>Staff Directory.
There are legitimate reasons why a firm would want to restrict access to the information shown in Settings>Staff Directory that are not applicable to viewing a list of staff codes.
