We should be able to edit an already created field when in the layout manager. Perhaps they can be thrown into a Directory or User Mini Directory. Additionally, we should be able to edit and change whether a field is a drop down, Y/N, monetary, search, or manual entry. Right now in order to do either of these changes, either field name or the data entry method, a whole new field needs to be created from scratch, which is completely a waste of time and makes editing in the layout manager inefficient.
