Folder Naming

Before Needles 5, our firm always included in the names of our client folders the date of incident. This way, we don’t need to have Needles open to identify, say, which file of the client’s three accidents we represent them for is a lienholder we’re talking to referencing. Now, we need to have Needles open to know which of our client’s auto accidents we are looking up. What good are those names having the Needles case number if we stop using Needles? Needles 5 not only does not give the date of incident as an option for folder naming, but also does not give any option to add your own variables to be part of the name.

Needles 5 can set subfolders, but not as any of the folder names that firms, not just ours, actually use subfolders in the client folder for, such as letters, medical records, and pleadings. We have to either manually create those subfolders for every new case we open or run a merge document to create the subfolder. Having Needles create those subfolders automatically would save us so much time opening new cases.

(DOI was not an option in 4x. This firm manually created Folders.)
