It makes sense to have the most comprehensive search (All) be the default, and then give individual users the option to change it, if they use a specific type of search most often.
"ALL" takes the longest amount of time to search. A suggested fix would be to default to the last choice from the last search. Then, ALL would be defaulted for you based on your last search.

In the very least, give us the OPTION to set a default. I'm pretty sure no one would choose name. I search client ID #s everytime.
